Trying to organize a small laundry room can be a challenge but with a bit of creativity it is do-able! The trick is to maximize the space you have. Below are a few tips to get you started.
Now you see it, now you don’t
Every laundry room needs a area to air dry delicates, sweaters, etc. but if you are short on space you need a creative option. I LOVE this DIY Pull Out Sweater Drying Rack (click on the picture for instructions)
This awesome drying rack folds up when not in use and can be fitted with hooks for additional storage.
Not that handy? No problem. Hang one or more retractable clotheslines as seen below. There when you need it, gone when you don’t!
Small laundry rooms are short on floor space so here we can utilize a wall with these washable hanging laundry baskets to sort out each load.
The space above your washer and dryer can be utilized in several ways. Depending on the space, hang cabinets or shelving to house detergents, spot treatments, clothes pins etc. Below you can see how to even use the space both OVER and UNDER the shelf using magnets!
Maximize the space above your washer and drying even further by installing a countertop that floats over both machines to create a folding/ironing rack (keep that linen closet organized and neat!) If you cannot install a permanent countertop, simply measure out and cut down a piece of plywood that fits right on top both machines and cover in fabric or contact paper to dress it up.
