Love Yourself from the Inside Out ♥
Ahhh February, the month of LOVE. Sure it’s still cold outside, but you know what they say…cold hands, warm heart. Perhaps love what the groundhog predicted, an early spring, yay! Valentine’s day, it’s especially sentimental for me, it’s also my wedding anniversary. This way the holiday is especially sweet. But say you don’t have a sweetheart, you could still be good to your own self and show yourself some love. How?
By taking good care of the body you live in. Everyone always thinks of back pain and neck pain etc when they think of a chiropractor. But chiropractic is really about so much more than that. It’s a way of living healthy. Making sure each system of the body such as your nervous system, musculoskeletal system, digestive system, cardiovascular system, pulmonary system, endocrine system etc are all working most efficiently and as effectively as possible. Health is a condition in which all functions of the body and mind are normally active. The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
With that being said, guess what’s the most important organ in the body? With this being the month love, you may be tempted to say the heart. The heart is very important, we can’t live without it, but if we didn’t have the brain sending signals to the heart to pump, then we’d really be in trouble! The only organ completely encased in bone is actually the brain, and so it must be pretty important to be so well protected by our skulls. It’s the brain that’s the most important organ. It’s truly the “brains” of the whole operation. It directs and controls all of our other body systems and parts, every cell, muscle and tissue. Want to know what the second most important organ is? It’s almost fully encased by bone, it’s our spinal cord. That’s how the brain gets the signal out to our body, through the spinal cord which is protected by our spinal column, the vertebrae. Since the vertebrae interlock so we can move, otherwise we’d be stiff and rigid and couldn’t bend or turn, sometimes the segments can get stuck or fixed in a position that it shouldn’t. What happens next is that the transmission of signals that come from the brain through the spinal cord and out through those nerves that come from between the vertebrae that are stuck, the signal is interfered with and the message gets distorted. Some part of your body will not get the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100% of their innate abilities. In other words, some part of your body will not be working properly, and that’s not healthy. This is a condition called subluxation and it’s what I, as a chiropractor specialize in. I’m trained to locate and correct vertebral subluxation to restore nerve function flow to allow the body to heal itself. Pain is not the best indicator as to whether or not you have a subluxation. A proper chiropractic screening will detect this and if you come to my office at Divine Chiropractic at 465 Route 25A Miller Place I will be able to tell you if this is what you have and we can get you on the road to health.
Health includes having your mind function at an active optimum level also. Why be bogged down thinking about cleaning the house you live in? Show yourself some love and stop wasting valuable time doing things that you don’t want to do and put your time into something better served such as doing something you enjoy or love to do. So with your hearts a flutter, leave the clutter and call Teresa’s Family Cleaning today and schedule an appointment with the professionals.
